Letting Go...
Last week, we discussed how many of us hold onto items longer than we should. We want to continue with this idea of letting go but focus on our emotions. Often, we find ourselves holding onto our feelings about ourselves, a situation or someone for hours, days or months after the fact. It is not easy to let go of something that has hurt us or that our minds cannot comprehend or fathom. Some emotional wounds may take longer to heal but it is only when we actively take the appropriate steps to heal ourselves, we can move forward. This week, we ask you to think about what your mind is holding onto and why. Write down the 5 most important items and why you think you are struggling with them. As each day passes, re-focus your energy to acceptance and forgiveness allowing yourself to let everything go.
Here are some quotes to think about as you start your journey into your mind:
“Some people believe holding on and hanging in there are signs of great strength. However, there are times when it takes much more strength to know when to let go and then do it.”
― Ann Landers
“Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don't.”
― Steve Maraboli, Life, the Truth, and Being Free
“We can't be afraid of change. You may feel very secure in the pond that you are in, but if you never venture out of it, you will never know that there is such a thing as an ocean, a sea. Holding onto something that is good for you now, may be the very reason why you don't have something better.”
